To give you experience in reading critically, and in writing a critical article review.
*** The individual article review is in addition to the mentoring article review described in the mentoring handout.
Pick an interesting professional article from the IS professional journals or refereed conferences. ("Refereed" means that the article has been formally reviewed and recommended by a group of peer researchers.)
These include MIS Quarterly, Journal of MIS, Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Research, ACM Computing Surveys, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Communications of the ACM, etc.

Also valid are refereed conference proceedings such as the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and the Hawaii International Conference on Systems Science (HICSS).

Once we have formally approved your article and listed it in the WebBoard Administrative conference, review the article using the article review guidelines posted on the class Web site.
As the article review guidelines will note, you should conduct a citation analysis for your article. Those off-campus may want to do this citation analysis together with that for your mentoring article.
Please turn in a printed copy of your review and a copy of the article itself, (if you didn't originally). Distance section participants also must mail a printed copy of their article reviews.
