Assignment: Getting to Know You

Due Date:

second week of class

Goal:

The goal is for all of us to get to know each other a bit. This will also help you get on the WebBoard system.

What to Do:

In the GETTING TO KNOW YOU conference, add a short biographical sketch about yourself. Include:

  1. your name
  2. the name we actually should call you (i.e., your nickname)
  3. your university (NJIT, Rutgers or NTU)
  4. year, program and major
  5. whether you are a masters or Ph.D. student, and if a masters student, whether you considering entering the Ph.D. program at some future time
  6. your employer and any job experience you've had regarding information systems (as a programmer or as a user)
  7. What do you expect to get out of this course? What are your hopes and what are your fears?
  8. include a favorite anecdote or joke if you wish

and for the on-campus sections:

For on-campus sections, please give your professor a photograph of yourself (or your student ID, etc.). Make sure it's close enough to real life that we would recognize you from it.

On the back side of the photograph, please write:

  1. what we should call you (a nickname, if you don't want us to use your first name)
  2. your last name

Thanks!
