Assignment: Mentoring Article Reviews

(Version 1.1 with dates fixed)

Due Dates:

• If your group mentors on or before the week of 3/3 (cognitive aspects), then your mentoring article review is due on 3/28.
• For all other mentoring teams, mentoring article reviews are due in class 2 weeks after you mentor (or by the Wednesday two weeks afterwards for the distance sections).

Goal:

To give you experience in reading critically, and in writing a critical article review.

*** The mentoring article review is in addition to the individual article review.

*** This is part of the mentoring team's duties, described in the mentoring assignment for the on-campus and distance sections.

Assignment:

(1) Write a Full Review

Write a full review for each of the two assigned articles that your mentoring team presents during your assigned week.

Follow the article review guidelines posted on the class Web site.

You can choose:

• to split the reviews, so each team member's name is on one review: we will give each of the team members the grade of the review with their name.
• to put each team member's name on both reviews: we will average the two review grades and give this average grade to each team member

(2) Submit the Review

Please turn in a printed copy of your review, with only the names of the team members who will get graded for that review.

Distance section participants also must mail a printed copy of their article reviews.
